The Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement between India and your country of residence stops the same income from being taxed in both countries. You either claim reduced TDS in India (with a Tax Residency Certificate + Form 10F), or claim a Foreign Tax Credit in your home country (Form 67 in India, or the equivalent abroad). Most NRIs overpay because the paperwork isn't lined up. We handle both sides so the credit actually lands.
